Mountains Are Awesome! - June 2013

When a series of Oliver Binnian’s drawing were featured on 'It's Nice That', his work was described as "following a strong line of concept driven process that is remarkably communicative". This month, we want to share his 'Mountain Cubism' series with you.

To introduce his piece titled 'Mountain Cubism', Oliver uses a highly appropriate quote from sculptor Jacques Lipchitz:

'Cubism is like standing at a certain point on a mountain and looking around. If you go higher, things will look different; if you go lower, again they will look different. It is a point of view.'

'I love the idea of creating a place where wherever you are everything is different and new' Binnian adds.

*On the first of every month, we’ll take a little time to pay tribute to what we think is one of the most awe-inspiring things out there: Mountains.  It might be a photo, video, collage, painting, poem, etc. ... just a little something to say, "Hey, mountains, you're awesome!
